Khvanchkara is a renowned naturally semi-sweet red wine from Georgia, crafted from the Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties cultivated in the Khvanchkara microzone of the Racha region. This wine is celebrated for its deep ruby color and complex bouquet, featuring aromas of ripe red berries such as raspberries and cherries, complemented by subtle floral notes. On the palate, Khvanchkara offers a harmonious balance of natural sweetness and acidity, delivering flavours of wild strawberries, pomegranates, and a hint of caramel, leading to a gentle, well-rounded finish.
Khvanchkara pairs excellently with desserts, fruits, and mild cheeses. It is best served slightly chilled, at a temperature of 12–14°C, to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity and flavour profile.
