Jim Beam Double Oak is a richer and more complex take on the classic Jim Beam bourbon. It is first aged in charred American oak barrels, then transferred to a second freshly charred barrel for further maturation. This double-barrel aging process deepens the whisky’s caramel, vanilla, and oaky spice flavours, giving it a fuller and more intense profile. Bottled at 43% ABV, it offers a more refined drinking experience compared to the standard Jim Beam.
Nose: Rich aromas of vanilla, toasted oak, caramel, and dark fruit, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: Smooth and full-bodied, featuring deep caramel, toffee, and oak spice, balanced by notes of charred wood, cocoa, and black pepper.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering vanilla, dark chocolate, and smoky oak.
Since Jim Beam Double Oak has a richer, oaky, and more intense flavour, it pairs best with a medium-to-full-bodied cigar that can stand up to its deep wood and spice notes.
Padron 2000 Maduro – A well-balanced cigar with espresso, dark cocoa, and pepper, mirroring the bourbon’s oak and caramel depth.
Rocky Patel The Edge Corojo – A bold cigar with spicy cedar, earth, and roasted nuts, complementing the whisky’s charred oak influence.
Alec Bradley Prensado – A full-flavoured cigar with dark chocolate, leather, and black pepper, enhancing the bourbon’s richness.
